Lambert, Edwards & Associates Adds Director T.J. Bucholz to Public Affairs Practice in Lansing

Lambert, Edwards & Associates (LE&A) has appointed T.J. Bucholz as director of the firm’s Public Affairs practice.  Full text of the press release below the fold:

LANSING, MICH. – January 31, 2011 – Lambert, Edwards & Associates (LE&A), Michigan’s top-ranked public relations agency and the state’s largest investor relations firm, today announced the appointment of T.J. Bucholz as director within the firm’s Public Affairs practice. The practice, which operates out of the firm’s Lansing office, serves clients from a variety of industries on public affairs issues, including advocacy, grassroots communication, media relations and social media.

“We are very excited to welcome T.J. to the LE&A team,” said Emily Gerkin Palsrok, managing director of the Public Affairs practice at LE&A. “T.J.’s extensive political communications experience will bring a new dimension to our Public Affairs practice and help us continue our statewide momentum as well as growing national reach. His diverse background in campaigns, education and healthcare strongly compliment other sectors at our firm making him an ideal addition to our already strong team.”

Most recently, Bucholz served as communications director for former House Speaker and current State Treasurer Andy Dillon’s gubernatorial campaign and Jocelyn Benson’s 2010 run for Secretary of State. Bucholz also served as a communications advisor for former Gov. Jennifer Granholm during her 2006 re-election campaign, and spearheaded communications for Michigan Lt. Governor John D. Cherry in Granholm’s office.

In addition to his campaign work, Bucholz recently served as a member of the leadership team at Hayes Green Beach Hospital in Charlotte, Mich. In this role, he developed campaign strategy, worked with federal and state intergovernmental agencies to secure funding and developed internal communications for a $20 million health and wellness campus construction project. He also has worked as a senior analyst for the Michigan Public Health Institute, a Lansing-based health care think tank, where he specialized in stakeholder engagement and communications planning

Bucholz has a decade of experience directing communications in the Executive Branch of state government, serving as the public information officer for both the Michigan Department of Education and State Board of Education, and the Michigan Department of Community Health. Bucholz also worked as a senior program officer with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, one of the world’s largest philanthropic entities. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Western Michigan University.
